Spring 1

Welcome back, I hope you all had a lovely and safe Christmas. This term our topic is 'Inside the castle walls' and our main book we will be looking at is 'The Queen's Handbag'. Please check out the knowledge organiser below to find out more information on what we will be looking at.

Home Learning: A new home learning menu is available on the website. This is for your child to choose one activity per week to complete. Each week an activity will be added to your child's account on Active Learn based on the learning we have done during the week in school. Spellings will be handed out on Wednesday's and a spelling quiz will take place the following Monday. On Friday your child's phonics packs will be updated with new activities.

W.B. 10th January

We have had an exciting week as we've been looking at traditional tales, writing about Rapunzel, looking at different castles and who lived/worked in a medieval castle. On Thursday we also had a very exciting visitor as we had Rapunzel come and read us a story, answer our questions and get picture. The children were very excited and slightly nervous at meeting the Princess.

W.B. 17th January.

This week we have been exploring our RE topic more and learning about all the special people that help us at church such as the cleaners, altar servers, readers and organists. We have also been learning about other special people that help us in our community such as firefighters. The children also got a visit from a firefighter where we learnt about their role and responsibility and even got to try on the fire helmet.
