Topic: Finding out from Fossils - Dinosaurs.

This half term Year Three will research about different types of dinosaurs and their characteristics as well as what the world looked like when they lived. They will also be looking at fossils, including how they are made, the different types and what they tell us about the past. We will also be looking at what makes us good learners and what we can do to help us learn better. We will look at growth mindset and how we can learn from our mistakes to make our work even better. We will also explore how our brains work and what happens when we learn something new and when we practise something often. We will also learn to challenge ourselves and think about how to approach challenges.

Please see our attached Knowledge Organiser for this half term.

This will then develop into creating fun poetry about the different dinosaurs we have learnt about; we will be focusing on the exciting poetry style of limericks. We will also use all of our research skills to use what we have learned about dinosaurs and create non-chronological reports.

RE

In RE our topic is Homes. In this topic we will explore the joys and sorrows of family life and how God is present in every home. This is expressed in the love that binds the family together within the home through good times and bad times. The children will enjoy thinking about what makes their homes special and what home means to them.
