In the first half of the Autumn term we will be looking at World War One. We will be covering many aspects of the war, including the historical timeline and what life was like when living in the trenches. We will be looking at some of the famous poets in Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen and finding out why the war is also known as The Great War.
As part of the topic we will be looking at Warhorse and Private Peaceful. Both books are written by Michael Morpurgo and capture the historical events of the War.
Attached is the home learning map for this topic and also an overview of the skills and contents of the topic. We hope that this topic can kick start the year and inspire the children to a fantastic year.
