Thursday 7th January 2021
Dear Parents,
Please find below our links for our home learning for Thursday 7th January 2021.
Do continue to share examples of your children’s good work by sending pictures to this email address. I really enjoy seeing what the children have been up to and awarding house points for their efforts.
Do look at the class page on the website to see examples of work from Year 4.
Many thanks,
Miss Ashborn

Reasons for and against different debate topics
Today the children will be generating reasons for and against different debate topics. They will also be considering the validity of their argument; whether their point is reasonable or simply their opinion. |
Mathematics |
In Maths today, the children will be finding unit and non-unit fractions of an amount. They will need to use their times table skills to help them, and will find it useful to find the unit fraction of an amount first. |
RE |
In RE, we are starting our new topic called ‘Community’. The children will be thinking about what is meant by the word ‘community’ and the role they play within their various communities. There is a story for the children to consider, and they will be exploring different jobs in our communities. |
Guided Reading |
For today’s activity, the children will finish reading Chapter 1 and will be developing their inference skills by completing an activity on BBC Bitesize. They will then be applying these skills to answer some of the questions about the story so far. |
Wellbeing |
Take note – go into your garden or go to a local park. What animals can you see? What sounds do you hear? What can you smell? |
