Summer Term: Friend or Foe?

Is is a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's the Reception class Superheroes!

During the first term the children will be becoming superheroes! From designing superhero costumes to going on a superhero mission. It's going to be a jam-packed adventure of a half-term! We're going to be reading 'Supertato' books to help inspire our reading and writing and will be writing in a variety of genres including comic strips and writing to a local author. We are also learning about heroes in our local community through people who help us and will meet some of these important people too! 

In the second half of the term we will be learning about the seaside. We will be comparing seaside holidays from the past with today, writing postcards, how we can look after our oceans and stay safe at the seaside. We'll research and investigate sea creatures. We will even follow maps and go on treasure hunts as we become pirates! arghhhhhhh!
