Through God’s love we learn together, grow together and achieve together.

As a celebration of the absolutely fantastic learning Year 3 has done this half-term, all the children in the class made a shield as part of their home learning and during our art topic sessions.

The children then had the opportunity to take their shields outside and learn about a Roman manoeuvre that the army used against it opponents called......The Tortoise!

The Romans created this formation when the army was trying to take over a fort or a castle. The shields protected the soldiers from arrows or other missiles being thrown at them.

Luckily for Year 3 they were just practising! What a great job team!
