Through God’s love we learn together, grow together and achieve together.

This topic is a great opportunity to build children’s knowledge of the period when the Ancient Egyptians were powerful in the world, to discover how the Ancient Egyptian civilisation came to an end and also to learn about the evidence of Ancient Egypt that exists in modern Egypt today. Children are invited to research some of the Pharaohs and the development of the pyramids, as well as the mythology that surrounded this early civilisation. They will investigate the role the Nile had in allowing this civilisation to flourish and examine daily life of common ancient Egyptians. In addition to all these, they will explore the geography of Africa and expand their geographical skills of using maps, atlases and globes to locate countries and describe features studied.
