1. Being me in my learning world
Topic: Being me in my learning world
This half term we focussed on what makes us good learners and what we can do to help us learn better. We looked at growth mindset and how we can learn from our mistakes to make our work even better. We also explored how our brains work and what happens when we learn something new and when we practise something often. We also learned to challenge ourselves and to how to approach challenges.

English
This half-term the children have learned about and written non-chronological reports, recounts and persuasive adverts. We researched dinosaurs and wrote non-chronological reports about them. We wrote recounts of our summer holidays and of The Dinosaur Diary story by Julia Donaldson. The children were inspired by the story 'Dinosaurs Love Underpants' and designed their own underpants for dinosaurs, following which they created a persuasive advert to encourage dinosaurs to buy their pants. They came up with some wonderful ideas!
RE
In RE our topic was Homes. In this topic we explored the joys and sorrows of family life and how God is present in every home. This is expressed in the love that binds the family together within the home through good times and bad times. The children enjoyed thinking about what makes their homes special and what home means to them.
