Welcome to year 3.

Welcome and please see my Parents' Presentation (click this link)

Class Teachers: Mrs Stewart and Mrs Church

Please find an outline of the expectations for the year below.

Reading

Please ensure that your child reads daily.  They should be reading a variety of fiction and non-fiction books.  It is important that they read to an adult/older sibling as often as possible.  Please ask your child questions about what they have read and encourage them to give opinions about the book.  Please make a note on the post-it notes provided to you when you have heard your child read and we will then make a note of this in their diary.

Spellings

This term your child will bring home a list of Year 3 and 4 spelling words.  They will also need to know the year 2 spelling list confidently.  Encourage your child to practise these words as often as possible. A weekly spelling quiz will be on Thursdays.

P.E

Year 3 P.E lessons are on Tuesdays this half term.  Please ensure your child is wearing the correct kit on these days.  All items should be clearly labelled.

Topic

This term our topic is Being Me in My Learning World.  In the first half term we will be looking at how we all learn and how learning can look different for different people.  We will be exploring the ideas of growth mindset as well as meta cognition to grow a positive outlook to learning and how we can learn every time we are challenged.

Home Learning
