Spring Term 1 Topic – ‘Wallace and Gromit’
Hook with a book: 'Hooray for Inventors' by Marcia Williams
Guided Reading: 'How Do They Make … Wallace & Gromit?' by Paul Mason
A journey in the world of animation! Wallace and Gromit are going to be our guides in exploring our imagination, the film narrative techniques and story writing skills. Who are they? They are largely loved characters from a British clay animation comedy series created by Nick Park of Aardman Animations. The series centres on Wallace, a good-natured, eccentric, cheese-loving inventor, along with his companion Gromit, a silent yet loyal and intelligent dog. We will follow the example of this extraordinary animation film to create our own characters, settings and story line and bring them to life through a short animation episode using our computing expertise. How exciting is that?
